...any live music counts - seeing a stringed quartet playing at tea or a band playing in a bar or club.
I suspect all audiophile are not music lovers by this definition.

...in response to the 2 hour listening per day audiophile question below.
Neither an audiophile or music lover has any silly requirements - if you are one, you know it.
Happy listening.
Used to go to 3 or 4 a week when I was single in Zurich . Since having a kid it has fallen dramatically. When I lived in London my wife and I were out at least twice a week to Barbican, South Bank Center or something similar. Now with a kid, 4 times a year is doing pretty good.
of missed recorded listening yesterday, I can happily and proudly
state that I AM still a music lover given the perimeters you've stated.
So, haven't lost ALL face 'round here.
Yet.

I suspect you already know the answer but....of course you can! There can be a variety of reasons for not attending live shows, doesn't make one any less of a music-lover!
Every day I listen to the sounds of natural and man made environments - much of which BECOMES music (if it is not already so) to my ears. But yeah, I probably see and hear at least four musical ensembles (of some type) perform each year. It's slim pickins out here in the boonies, however, so I have to take what I can get.

...based on some recent posts here and the flurry of responses to them, an outsider would have to conclude that audphilila is a boring and shallow hobby.
