the IKEA chair is quite good, lightweight and comfortable (poäng which means point in swedish) and i just recently balanced my radio shack SPL meter I was using to measure the room on the frame where my ears would be. I can't imagine this chair having a negative effect on the room acoustics so I'm not sure what geoff kait is talking about.
disclaimer i'm half swedish ;)

And I'll 4th it. I have red ones!
Red is nice too. The shelves along the wall are Ikea Billy shelves arranged so that, if you could view them from above, they would look like a saw blade. Putting them on an angle was Richard Rives Bird's idea; it makes the entire back wall of the room into a giant diffusor.
I have two black ones in my room. The sweet spot chair gets the foot stool. Extremely comfortable and easy to move around.
Isn't ear height a little low for most speakers when sitting in a Poang? Montiors on shorter stands wouldn't be an issue, I suppose. That, plus the temptation to rock back and forth, therefore affecting the sound a tad, has kept me from taking one home.
See ya. Dave
I have Maggies, so that's not an issue for me. Since I tend to use the foot stool, I tend not to rock. There is a standard chair that rocks a little (the one that I have) and a full rocker model.
