Don't think I've ever had a bad experience. Hanging out in Harmony House in the early 70's, going to Lyric to hear the IRS V's, or stopping in Singer for odds and ends. But I always let the salesperson know what's going on, i.e. whether I'm buying or just want to hear something for kicks that I'll probably never buy. That said, if I ever did encounter that, I'd be out of there in a second.
I get the "holier than thou" approach. It appeals to the kind of immature male who gets an erection at the thought of gigantic blue McIntosh meters. But if the sales rep thinks that is me, (s)he just isn't competent.

That reminds me of a friend of mine. He get's turned on by the blue meters. If he ever see's a hot woman it does nothing for him. I guess if chicks started walking around with blue meters on their chest they could capture the Mac crowd.
That reminds me.
Thank you
