Maybe, but wandering round lost in music isn't exactly a bastion of safety on the open road either.
Especially in a country that doesn't know the word 'jaywalking'. Here in the UK, you can happily saunter across the road in a state of blithe unawareness of the rest of the world. At least until they bullseye a car windscreen.
