great session man, writer, R&B-blues singer.
Follow Ups:
What an interesting career he had. Was just listening to his C&W LP last week, it has some GREAT tunes on it.
His association/collaboration with Jim Ford was certainly interesting and full of colorful stories.
Musically there was certainly more to him than the soul man he was best known as.
RIP Mr. Womack.

R.I.P.
That's a shame - I came to him via "Across 110th Street" in Jackie Brown.
Back in the early 70s, KSFO had a show called "Chronicles of Rock", hosted by John Gilliland. Bobby Womack told a tale of how he coerced Janis Joplin into free-stylin' "Mercedes Benz". A few hours later she was gone. R.I.P. Bobby Womack !!!
