Speaking of all-time top legends...Doc will be 87 in July, and he's still got it! Maybe pacing himself a bit, but definitely with all the passion, showmanship, humor and impeccable trumpet playing!
Inmates who have the energy and stamina to get to Minneapolis would be smart to get there. April 12 and 13.

on leaving after graduating from "the U" in '75.
Actually, it's a pretty cool place; I miss it and my many friends.
Don't miss the weather, of course, specifically Dec-March.
I thought he had died along with Johnny and Ed.
Doc is definitely alive. He is still a scarily awesome musician, great guy, gourmet chef, etc.docseverinsen.com
And, no, I'm not in Minnie-SOta. lol

I saw Doc's show not long ago...he was EXCELLENT. Age did little to knock any of the polish off his playing. He was with a wonderful band (4 or 5 young players) who made a great big sound. You'll enjoy it.
Excellent reply, SgreenP. Thanks!
Doc has been doing several types of performances. Solo appearances with various ensembles, San Miguel Five, and his big band.
'Doc' Severinsen defines the term "role model".
He's a very rare horse. ;-)
There will be a huge void in my heart, and I WILL cry, when he leaves us 20 years from now.
Dave
