Are they common or some new government mandated nanny outlet?
I was tampering with outlets since I was toddler, sticking scissors in the outlets according to my parents. I'm still here and doing fine. Bzzzz! Hiccup.
Follow Ups:
When we had our bathroom remodeled a couple years back, I noticed that the openings in the outlets where the blades of a plug meet the contact are not truly open. Yo cannot see a shiny contact on the side. They have little louvers that must be "shoved aside" which requires some level of insertion force.
Leviton Tamper-Resistant Receps
Interesting. I had no idea. None of our outlets are tamper resistant but our house is about 15 years old.
I like Leviton brand electrical items but they're a little pricey. We have a few 'high tech' Leviton light dimmers and ceiling fan controls I that installed a few years ago.
