One of these has to go due to financial reasons. The Creek probably sounds better, the Planet looks cooler :) Both have the remotes and owners manual. Would rather sell the Planet but all of the feed have been removed, leaving the screw springs exposed. I alread had some quest for sound cork i-solpads so no problem but someone else may not like the looks.
advice??
If you decide to sell the Creek CD-60, I'm in the market for one... Got any pictures? Is it in pretty good shape?
afraid the creek is long gone...sorry..
Unless a pro did it and you can supply paperwork, it will probably kill the sale. External, like the feet, just say, " It's used" and shrug.
I had a Creek cd60,I would keep it just because it was just such a very solid player both in weight and sound,
I loved my Planet, but mine died due to lack of a simple replacement part in the transport. Rega didn't have any more, didn't know where to get any...NOT helpful. Arrgh! Keep the Creek, hotrod it. You've already been given exactly what caps need to be replaced, with what. Go fer it, let us know how it sounds.
Popsy:
I have been a very satisfied Rega Planet owner since 1999. Mine is 10 years old, and still gets used. Here are plusses:
Well made.
Decent sound.
Easily transportable.
Reads some CD's that my more expensive players won't.
I will likely keep it unit it dies.
I must confess, I have never listened to the Creek player. BUT, based on my Planet experience, I also bought a Saturn.
YMMV

Is that CD60 the Creek CD player from the mid-90s? If so, we used to play with those and swap out the output capacitors (they used pretty bad NP electrolytics) with some good polypropylene caps and made that machine sound a heck of a lot better! The spacing on the circuit board will fit some big caps. It was a really big improvement.
yep,sure is :D
