They are not exactly mutually exclusive. I bet you can swap out that Jolida and hook up a new unit in less than 10 minutes. Ten minutes certainly won't cut too deeply into your listening time, will it?
True dat... BUTUpgrading the sources requires:
-extensive research of sources to find potential synergystic matches with my system-if buying new - taking days off work to go to dealers to audition these sources in dealers show-room, then bringing them home to compare against my current sources
-if buying used, wait for the right one to come up on the 'gon, deal with potential issues (shipping, etc), then comparing to my current sources - and decide if it was an upgrade, downgrade, or sidegrade
-$$$$$ I"M PO
