hand wound transformer Dynaco replacements delivery or other problems anyone?

Hi,
purchased a replacement output transformer from David Lucas of
Hand Wound Transformers. Full payment inadvance (paypal).
Now approaching 3 months with no transformer and no reply to past
Emails.Does anyone have any background information on this business
or past dealings with this Joker?

Our only hope is that this company shapes up, or goes outta business soon before more DIYer's get screwed.
I bought an entire ST70 replacement set. Teh OPT sound great, but the PT hums like a mother and gets REALLY hot after 1-2 hours of use. Certainly not as advertised - "Runs Cooler Than Original! Better Regulation Than Original!"
I paid the same day I won the auction but only receive the trannies 3 1/2 months later. First they were out of stock, then employees were on vacation, then final testing takes time, then telling me it shipped when it didn't....needless to say pathetic lies and business practice.
There is no point in return the PT because I can't wait for another just for more hassles and wasted time.
BUY YOUR TRANNY FROM NED, DR. DYNACO, OR MAGNAQUEST.

They're catching some flack on the rec.audio.tubes newsgroup. You might want to do a newsgroup search on "handwoundtransformers.com". Several posts saying that the xfmrs aren't very good. FWIW.

all I keep getting are excuses or that they are checking into it. Ebay is no use as its over 3 months now.The auction was over close to 5 1/2 months. Finally had to threaten them with FCC mail fraud filing and as of today they tell me another tranny was shipped out to me! Time will tell. If you notice that no where can you snail mail them or call (even their website). All I can tell is that they are in PA(if thats true). If no power tranny shows up soon I have way to get even at least. Live and learn I guess. And like you I paid promptly as he requests at auction end.

      Then you can file a Postal Fraud claim which is a Federal Offense !

Check out handwoundtransformers feedback on ebay. As far as I know no one has been actually cheated, yet.

  Ebay and Handwound Transformers feedback are spurious at best.
  Think about it as with my experience with them.
  First Ebay's feedback only is only relevant within 3 months.
  Try to post feedback after 3 months, As it will no longer be in the
  database, So one cannot post feedback for them after that.
  Ask yourself another question? How come so many people have waited
  for months to receive their transformers or if they receive them at all, as after it is out of Ebay's database.
  With the excuses that Handwound gives for all of their transactions
  as it is always the other people's problem and not Handwound's according to Handwound.
  Email anyone that has posted {-} feedback with Handwound and they will tell one that they will have to make the transformer, Then either they will be on vacation or it's shipping next week or they received it back as they mislabeled the package or a myriad of prepared excuses.
  I bought a power transformer from them, It was horrible as it
  ran hotter and was noisier than the original PA-060 and it didn't last 2 months.
  I thought it must be a fluke so I bought another one and never received it.
  So research them and you will find out the truth about them, Bad service/Product/Customer support, Etc............
  Of course they insist you pay ASAP.
  Try them out for yourself and you will know the truth.
  I hope one can learn from other peoples experience.

  Handwound Transformers are a joke.
  I purchased 2 power transformers last year (2002) and both are now dead. So I put the stock PA-060 transformers back into my ST-70's
  so far no problems.
  Also before the transformers blew I ordered a pair of replacement output transformers in May 2003 and still have not received them as to this date 10-3-2003.
  Uncle Ned from Triode Electronics will get my business from now on.

I used these tranny's, over THREE months delivery time! However, they are very good! The power trans does get kinda warm after 3-4 hours of playing.

  I suggest anyone that is touting this transformers as being good once you get them to run them on the scope they are miserable compared to the Original Dtnaco Output Iron !
