Hello,What is the better sounding tubes you've found for this DAC?
Gain is no problem -- using a preamp. Can use 6922 or 12ATZ.
Currently have Mullard 12AT7's in there and am looking for more warmth and liquid mids. Aren't we all.... : )

Over the last year or so I've purchased several different NOS tubes for my CD12V. On Joe's advice, I started using 12AT7s (after making the necessary changes to the jumpers on the board), and I found that the Siemens produced the warmest, most listenable mids, although the Telefunkens and the Bugle Boys weren't far behind.
It's somewhat easier to find NOS 12AT7s, since everybody seems to be snapping up the 6922s (6DJ8) at an alarming rate. And, they're a whole lot cheaper, too!
