You are correct. You had to sort through all the junk. Ziroq is excellent, both the music and the sound quality. I also like the Atomic Rooster disk. I have a few A-R LPs, but no CDs so I took the chance on the DVD-A. Its surround performance is surprisingly good as well. Most Silverline disks were nothing more than a bit of something unrecognizable coming out of the rear speakes if you stuck your ear up to one of them and used a vivid imagination.

Also the Vanguard Classics/Silverline series is very good and all the titles are 24/96 in both surround and stereo, oddly the original analog tapes were mastered to 24/192 and downsampled to 24/96. I never really understood why? But the sound quality is mostly excellent.
Most Silverlines I found to be very bad, especially ones from Sanctuary stereo and mono masters that were artificially made into Surround sound, even worse yet the stereo programs (when they were included) were not from the masters but downmixed from the Surround sound mix.
Just everything that one can do wrong in remastering Silverline has done. The worst sounding Silverline DVD-Audio I've heard is Gary Moore's Back to the Blues.
Give me high resolution or remain silent,

In your post other than in the title you don't discuss the Pentangle DVD. This is one of those albums I've owned since it came out. Have you compared it to the original UK Transatlantic LP. This is really a superb recording and I would love to have it in Multi-Channel sound. Have you listened to the surround mix?
Thanks
Also I listen in 2 channel only so I am sorry I can't help you with that either. I thought it sounded good, but I can't put it on as I sold it when I sold most of my non-classical recordings in all formats about six months ago. There was another Silverline DVD-Audio I thought sounded good as well: Fairport Convention: Close To The Wind.
Give me high resolution or remain silent,

I have the gary moore disc.theres some reverb on some of the songs.I dont know if its intentinal. It would sound better if it was not there.
all the song state why they sound the way they do with the on screen song minu.some are 1st takes.one song quoted in his own words is raunchy sounding with the wind blowing ect.
there are only 2 songs that sounds normal no reverb they are picture of the moon & the prophet.he states there dry sounding.I dont know who gary moore is but I like the music on the disc.:]guitar style reminds me of stevie ray vaughn.
