Hello,
I was wondering if anyone else had problems playing this newly released DVD-A. I purchased it today and the player does not get past track 2. Towards the end, the song skips 5 times and then freezes at track 3. The display stalls and then reads as follows: 3.349:29. I've checked the disc and there are no scratches on it. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Try it at your dealer's. If he doesn't have a C-5xe, call Michael at 303-442-7300 x223 and then mail us the disc. We'll see if does the same thing on our players. If it does, then the disc is authored defectively. If it plays fine, then you'll need to send your player back for repair.
Thanks, Charles!
It's not defective. This I can guarantee.
There seems to be a problem that certain players cannot properly read the MLP streams - the reason is firmware related, caused by the 16:9 aspect ratio. Players that have this issue are (as far as I know so far)
Pioneer 578
Yamaha DVD S657
Oppo OPDV 971H
Oppo OPDV 970HD
Onkyo DV-SP502E
Integra DTR - 6.5 (made by Onkyo)
There is a firmware update that sorts out the Pioneer, the Oppo & the Onkyo players (the latter two are denied to exist by the European service centres, but I have them).
Symptoms here are that as soon as you try to access the MLP streams, the player freezes competely.
All skipping issues are player related, caused (probably) by dirt, or crud in the drive. Definitely not an authoring issue.
