In Reply to: Sony & BMG ... Working Together To Kill SACD . LOL . Billboard's #2 , #3 , & #8 albums, on the Top 200 Albums chart... posted by ZS KEKL on June 28, 2005 at 18:36:08:
The recently released BMG/Sony SACDs:
Big Guns, The Very Best of Rory Gallagher (BMG/Sony) Just released
Jeff Wayne: The War of the Worlds (BMG/Sony) Just released
plus <10 more> RCA Living Stereo SACDs (BMG) July 28, 2005
and at Universal 5 more Mercury Living Presence SACDs.So it looks like the less than perfect sounding recordings are going to DualDisc and the best sounding to SACD. But poor DVD-Audio is gasping for air with only AIX, Classic, MDG and a few other small labels supporting it.
SACD is high resolution for people who care as much about sound quality as they do about the performance.
DualDisc is for people who want lots of extra content: Web links, Videos, lyrics on screen etc.
So you see these to formats are not at war with each other as they serve different listeners.

please keep SACD discussions in the HiRez Highway

KEKL's discussion is based on DualDisc.
That's the main topic of his posts - even if he does throw in a SACD or twelve. All you're doing is threadfarting with SACD babble, and adding to the flame wars.
Why can't you just leave his posts alone?
You've made it clear that your infatuated with SACD, and consider DualDisc the tool of the devil.
That's fine - just stay out of the DualDisc discussions, otherwise you're threadfarting.

And it is full of incorrect information about SACD that needed to be corrected. If you do not see that you are totally blind! I have been reading his posts for 5 years, have you? Please think before you post, please!
regardless of his hating SACD.If he posted that in the HiRez Highway - he would be in the wrong.
The DVD forums knocked DIVX, XBOX forums knock PS2, etc.
It's one of the advantages of having a forum dedicated to a specific format/product. It's not only acceptable, it's expected.Noone cares if his info on SACD is incorrect. Are you the SACD-info Police?
With the exception of you, everyone takes KEKL's posts for what they are. You have the ability to NOT read his posts - have you ever tried that?

last time i looked, this was the dvd-adiobahn, and not the dual disc district. when you can effectively show that dual disc is in essence a dvd-a format, i'll admit your point. but right now, both sacd and dvd-a are basically irrelevant in the world of dual disc (and primarily because so few people actualy give a rat's ass about high-rez, let alone know what high-rez is).get a clue: KEKL is a moron, as are those who take his posts even slightly seriously. high-rez is not a popular format, and never will be. go on and pick sides: you will have then reduced your possible choices by at least half. well done for you! i'm sure you'll enjoy the paucity of reasonable recordings available for you to play on your (no doubt) superior equipment.

Some DualDiscs come with DVD-A.Sounds like you're taking his posts seriously, as you just called him a moron.
All I'm saying is his posts are still on-topic in this forum - even though he knocks SACD in his posts. Noone says you have to agree with his opinion on SACD.
We all have the choice of ignoring his posts. Seems like the ones who complain about him are the ones who take his posts seriously.
i don't see how dual disc, which treats dvd-a as an afterthought, is really relevant to high-rez. it's a maketing gimmick that's trying to save sales by primarily adding video content to a cd. the developers of dualdisc get the option of high-rez for free as a result of the format, not because they have a belief in its intrinsic value...i agree with you about responding to kekl, though. but the fact that i refer to him as a moron doesn't meanm i take him seriously. in fact, i'm fairly sure morons in general are not taken seriously..;) my frustrations boil over, though, because it seems that the only time there's any activity on this forum is when kekl rouses up teresa and all hell breaks loose. there's nothing of value at all in reading the kekl/teresa/dave555/vinyldude battles. it's not even entertaining anymore....
... for the most part the DVD-Audio manufacturer's are now making their releases as DualDisc.I also do not think it is an afterthought for those who actually include DVD-Audio (if it was, they would release them in Dolby Digital instead). Definitely Silverline takes their DVD-Audio DualDisc releases seriously.
What I would like is a site, equivalent to www.sa-cd.net, which lists only those DualDiscs that contain DVD-Audio, or at leasts details the contents of the discs - right now it is difficult to know whether a particular album contains it or not (though of course if the label is Sony, then it certainly does not...).
I listen in 2 channel and I don't care for folddowns, but a high resolution multi-channel folddown is much better than Dolby Digital. The site should only list DualDiscs if they have a DVD-Audio track.
I would like to see something along these lines:
*** check one ***
___ DVD Audio ____ DVD Audio + CD _____ DualDisc
Advanced Resolution Surround Sound: 96kHz 24Bit - DVD Audio players
Advanced Resolution Stereo: 192kHz 24Bit (for example) - DVD Audio players
Surround Sound: dts 5.1 or Dolby Digital 5.1 - DVD Video players
Stereo: Dolby Digital, or 48kHz 24 Bit (for example) - DVD Video players
Video: "names of the music videos" - All DVD players
Lyrics - All DVD playersPlus pictures of the release and reviews as well. I hope someone is interested in starting such a site.
I believe that SA-CD.net is a great resource for that format and the lack of a similar site for DVD-Audio content is hurting its success.Ideally I would like to see a service that addresses both hi-def formats together because at this point I think that the percentage of cross-over listeners is pretty high.
Stephen from sa-cd.net has indicated interest in doing so in an old email correspondence but has said that the main obstacle is time since he has pretty much his hands full keeping up with SACD.
If I had the time I would consider doing it, but my regular job keeps me busy enough (and I spend my work time programming, so during my time off I would rather do something else...)

where is this hate? I do not have a hateful bone in my whole body.I don't even hate you although I do feel very sorry for you and wish you would GO AWAY!
I am registered and you are not, YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE. UNDERSTAND!!
I own a DVD-Audio player do you?
You and your alterego Dave555 are the ones putting people down.I would never do such a thing.
But ZS KEKL lies have to be corrected, are you willing to do it?
Yes I belive in Karma and you are building up some very, very bad Karma with the mistreatment of me, Racerguy and everyone else you come into contact with.
You really need to behave better or leave. SO DO YOU GET IT?
Teresa
You on the other hand put people down 24/7, it is you hobby. It is time to play nice and get a new hobby, and quit being so full of yourself!
Wishing you luck in transforming your personality,
Indeed! That's a lie!

...and probably quite amusing to compare "SACD Cheerleader" Teresa's DVD-Audio collection with yours. I suspect we would get a good laugh over how much smaller yours is than hers. :-)BTW, why don't you tell us all about your DVD-A player and DVD-A collection? Be honest.

there is no debate, just you Vinyldude aka Dave555 wasting everyone's time, as you contribute nothing at all. This is why your dual personality should be banned forever from both DVD-Audiobaun and Hi-Rez Highway.
Racerguy's question is very important in showing what a true troll you are as I am a bigger DVD-Audio supporter than you will ever be!
You are perhaps the most unintellegent person I have ever had the displeasure to converse with!
Go away now! You are making us all sick!!!!!!!!!!
with your words of hate and your mistreatment of EVERYONE one this board. You are totally WRONG and way off base I have no bullshit, no hatred and no religous fervor, I ONLY OFFER LOVE!
So either behave or leave forever. I will not miss your hatred at all!
Replace that hatred with love, you can do it.
Oh, I see. Asking you about your DVD-Audio software and equipment in the DVD-Audio forum is "rubbish," but you calling me an "Internet toughguy" is germane to the "debate."Riiiight.
So, now that I understand that you're not really interested in DVD-Audio, I can go back to ignoring your childish prattle.
How many DVD-Audio's do you own and what player?I am also sure I own MORE DVD-Audio titles than you do!
either board has ever had. I have never ridiculed anyone, you on the other hand just love to ridicule people.I enjoy high resolution PCM 96kHz and 192kHz, DSD is just more realistic. So why do you ridicule me for stating an obvious fact.
You are a really a strange fellow, but I am willing to help you become a better person.
I didn't know Sony, EMI, Deutsche Grammaphon, Philips, Decca, RCA and others were small labels, over 200 labels support SACD.Go back to Vinyl you do not belong here.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out!'
LEAVE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
