this gives me some choice, I did find Toshiba 4960 mail order for $120, virtually a giveaway, but I can't help believing you get what you pay for. Is Cambridge worth 3 times the price, considering I'm not into HDTV, barely into TV at all and will never have multichannel? Don't know.

Follow Ups:
Readily available at Best Buy. 30 day return policy.I myself won't deal with mail order for electronics.
I have turned into a movie fanatic as of late given these deals at video stores like Hollywood and Blockbuster whereby you pay around $15 and have unlimited rentals for the month. Also my local library lets one borrow a DVD for $2.00 for two weeks.
Hard to listen to music in the warm weather. I'm in an apartment and air conditioners are running constantly and are quite noisy in adjoining apartments. Basically killing the listening experience with CD and SACDs so I'm on hold for that!

from JR Music World in NYC, Toshiba sd 4960, $120 with free shipping. It has DVD-A and SACD so it will be interesting to see how its SACD playback compares with a player 30 times more expensive. Anyway it was a good lead on the region-free Philips players, but since I probably will get very few non-Region-1 and/or PAL DVDs, I decided to go for the audio capability instead. Ordering by mail, of course there is some risk, but I have local Toshiba service center. Primarily for video, but I'm sure I will get Neil Young's 192 kHz Harvest and see how it sounds in 2 channel.
