I think the XR45 with Pioneer 563A running redbook via digital coax stands up to DVD-A and SACD run via RCAs. Dolby Pro-logic 2 will kick in proccessing a stereo source into very likeable 5 channel.

5.1 24\96K full digital would be killer indeed!!

Hopefully the XR70 will have more power. The XR45 on 88db speakers runs out of steam.

You'd still need a seperate SACD player.
