Agentalbert,
I have a new 540D as well since Monday and no problems whatsoever. Here's how I've got mine hooked up. I have analog cables from the left and right multichannel output to the input on my int. amp as I'm only intetested in 2 channel dvd-audio. My TV is pretty old so I just ran a analog cable from the yellow video out on the 540D to my TV input and that's it. Make sure you go thru the settings menu as well and setup for 5.1 sound to get the dvd-audio. Hope this helps!

I got mine from AudioAdvisor just like you. I called them, they had me call AudioPlusResources, who is the US support for that model. They told me that they were aware of the problem, and were hoping to hear from Cambridge soon what the solution would be, hopefully just a software issue fixed by a firmware upgrade. If this is really the case, I guess you got lucky you didn't get one of the bad units.
