...suggest you read it and don't skoff. It blew away my Toshiba 4700 as far as audio was concerned, and also a JVC 600. It is more transparant thatn the c222ES is, on both CD and high-rez. It has upsampling...three combinations. See if you can borrow one to listen to at home. If you can't, considered risking the $130 bucks it costs. if you don't like it you can put it up on eBay and lose maybe $30 bucks.

I could not find a reference to a S55 here in France, but the S35 is everywhere, at a higher price usually.Some places have the S75 but there is no description of the product.
Is the S35 a decent product?
...DVD-Audio (s35 without, s55 with) and changer (s35 singele, s75 multi without DVD-A; s55single, s85 multi w/DVD-A).Can't be sure about the audio circuitry, but these are such mass produced machines they must have a great deal of parts commonality.

forgot upsampling. The s55 and s85 have it, along with the DVD-A.
