SACDs have no video, so they suck. They have noises only bats can hear, so they suck, they come is boring digipaks and regular CD cases, so they don't stand out and suck for this reason too. PCM is being used by everybody and DSD isn't, so it sucks. You don't have to flip an SACD to play the CD layer, so yous all get fatter and fatter. SACD has more shitty titles than DVDA, so they really suck eggs. Sony single layers will only play on SACDPs, so Sony sucks, DVDAs will play on the 20 Billion DVDVPs out there, so ha hah ahah SACD is sucky. Sony and Philips are money sucking whores, down with them. My 7 yr old second gen Toshiba DVD Rom won't play Hybrids SACDs, but it will play my DVDA discs, so SACD is really sucky. DVDA is the future, SACD is the past. Madonna, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin will be on DVDA and not SACD, so there.

        It's actually pretty sobering to see all those points and arguments in a single paragraph, I guess we all need some kind of critical reflection or mirror image.
        I hope you will do the same some day on the highway, though :)

        all I was critical about, in the beginning was NOT knowing what each had and that we were getting foldowns for STEREO and when we weren't we weren't always getting 24/96 and/or 24/192. However, as John Kotches has pointed out to me, not all masters were recorded in native 24/96 and/or 24/192 and evidently it's not as simple as crunching them into those higher resolutions if they weren't natively recorded in such.
        I tried to bring the Denon 1600 out into the main system but I was about 1" short in vertical space and I'm going to have to really think about lifting the entire rack off the credenza and get that inch. I want to have DVDA in my main rig as I'm not really listening to the second system all that much lately.
        I have no problem sonically with Verance or with the sonics in general. I want to be let back into the club!
        For the record, as if it needs to be said, I still prefer buying SACDs, CDs and LPs to DVDAs, but there are some titles that I do want to buy and I'm allocating my next binge to DVDAs.
