Follow Ups:
I think you are right about sacd, but.....as we speak, DVD Forum has choosen what format should be use in HD-DVD (audio). DD, dts and MLP.
Since Panasonic support Blu-ray, it might be funny to see how far sacd can go there? :D

With the exception of a few documentaries maybe... But I am afraid there will be no HD-DVD/Blu-Ray based music disc...

What makes you so sure? :)

The format that's get support from the movie industry will win.Everybody seems focussed on the hardware that gets out first.
But in this case the software will matter and the backward compatibility with the existing DVD standard wil be needed for a long time to ensure a smooth transition to HDV.
The 'other' format has a good change of ending up as the consumer recording format.
I don't doubt that the movie industry only goes ahead after they made shure that copy protection is up to their requirements.
Every time I invest a large sum of money in a new technology, someone in the industry comes up with something nasty...
So we may have SACD and DVD-A still for quite a few time around.
But what is for ever on earth?

A nice two-page article presents a line-up of audiophile turntables (from Pro-Ject Debut, €180, to Linn LP 12/Lingo/Ekos, €6,300). This bi-monthly classical music magazine is available as free download (in German only).

I can not think of another country with such an enthusiasm for it.
