Interesting results from your OPT lab.
2.5k/3.5k: the higher tap will give a little less power and less distortion. You don't need the power so that would be my choice. Also make sure you have the high impedance output for your Feastrex. AFAIK they all have DCR 15+ohms which is the impedance minima. Average is in the 20's and when driven sub-optimally it is measureable with frequency extremes tailing off when less than matching impedance tap is used. It also affects damping and overall sound balance in a big way.
I know what you mean about flea power and transparency but I don't think the Lux will take you in that direction. It's hallmark is huge dynamics and big soundstage.
