AN had a return/exchange for some of their caps. But it's 5yrs so suggest you mail it direct to them and ask if they'll replace it.

  As a check, I replaced the failed AN cap with an original WIMA cap. The pin 5 voltages on all tube sockets were again stable at -50 VDC, but only for around 5 or so minutes. This time the outside right hand tube socket shot up to around +270 VDC and (you guessed it) I tracked it to the fact that the remaining AN cap in the right channel had now shorted! Bizarre, seems like a more fundamental issue, any ideas Brian? Anyway, I then replaced this failed AN cap with another of the original WIMA caps. All pin 5 voltages now settled down for over an hours and I then re-fitted the tubes while checking all voltages as I went along. I connected speakers and source and (with volume fully anti-clockwise) set all the biases to 0.45 VDC. I slowly turned up the volume and the system has "happily" played through a couple of albums without issue, though I'll monitor stability over the next few days. Seems like I need 2 replacement AN caps, Brian can you provide addressing info for Audio Note and I will try, as you suggested, and see if they'll accept a mail back for replacement.

      I'll try my luck with AN but (as you note) I can't see them being too forthcoming given the caps are 5 years old (even though they have only seen active service in the last 3 months).
      
      In the mean time I was thinking of buying 4 replacement Obbligato Gold Premium caps. Given the original WIMA caps were rated at 0.1uF and the AN copper PIO caps were rated at 0.22uF, what rating Obbligato Gold Premium caps would you suggest?

        The replacement policy applies to all our copper foil paper in oil caps, regardless of age, so send them back and they will be replaced.
