Hi Brian and thanks for the information and opinions in the previous thread. Sharing your knowledge and experience is appreciated and goes a long way to whet the appetite of us DIYers for the next project.
As a practical example, I have an older, wood fronted Ella and was wondering whether it would appreciate being "modularised".
In the past I've toyed with the idea of doing a separate, dual mono PS or replacing the output transformers but I wasn't convinced about the cost/benefit ratio. I have replaced the B+ electro's with film caps and put in a full-wave PS on the bias supply so I guess I'm part of the way there.
Have I reached the practical limit of "push-pull EL34's". Would I be better off saving for a new amp? Questions, questions!!
Speakers are sealed box Neofones with active sub.

Definitely. Probably no room for the FCUPS but there is a lot you can do and ABS should be at the top of the list.
You can get some ideas and fitting arrangements on Graham's site linked. I've heard his system and the Ella really sings.
