If silver works in your system then 1mm soft annealed silver wire would serve. For maximum microphonics damping (usually a concern for inside box wiring) it's hard to beat the Gotham cable.

if the resistance or capacitance (check whether polar or non-polar) are within tolerance, and as long as the voltage or power rating is equal to or exceeds that of the original, then you can sub ... but be aware that this will change over-all tone/sound. but then, this is what diy is all about ... hehehe
