I am getting on so I think maybe 24/96 might be adequate, with my hearing.But this will be through QUAD 63s, recently serviced, with updated protection, and smaller bypassed input caps.
They will be PLL filtered at 1st order from 150Hz.
What do you think?
Note that this is all down the track stuff, so I will be doing research and learning as I go. Click below for the next few - non ADC / no DSP - stages for the new system.

The room is our L-shaped Lounge/Dining room, with its long diagonal ~ 35ft. The plans, filter slopes and f3 points, five stereo power amps, etc reflect advice from Duke (Audio Kynesis/ Swarm subs), TomServo, ...

on how to adapt my modified LEAK Stereo 20 (valve) power amps (amps 4 and 5 and strapped to mono in parallel) as cold weather amps into the QUADs.
As back up speakers for when the 63 fo in for service I will be building a pair of Manger WR drivers into smallish sealed spheres for use 150 Hz up, with the LEAKs. So Winter will be servicing time for the QUADs.
The benefit will be that I will still have as good as possible impulse response, just as with the QUADs.
One step at a time, eh?!

Hi, quick reply, I will try to look at the other stuff later. I think you are more technically knowledgeable than me.I don't think the Benchmark or Ayre run on separate power supplies.
The LineStreamer+ runs off the USB from your PC. So that would work.The more I listen to various file sizes, and read, I think 24/96 is ideal. The brickwall filters are high enough to do no damage.
To be honest, I think CDs that are well recorded can sound excellent with good digital gear.
I got a PS Audio PerfectWave Memory Player and I am using a Lindemann 825 as a dac, digital has never sounded better. Even my Benchmark Dac2 did a very good job of playing all types of files. DSD, 16/44 through to 24/192. It usually is the source material that matters. I have vinyl transferred at 24/96 that sounds great. I ripped a XRCD of Wasserman's Duets that is superb. The CD layer on SACDs sound better on my current digital gear, than the SACD played back on my Oppo 83se.If your goal is to digitize for the car, the LineStreamer+ will be all you need.

Yep Digitising LP'S I had two slowly fail to work--No factory parts anymore so both refunded by Amazon without Question--Kudos to them!
I know Kevin Halverson the designer and while he was most prompt with reply he sated sadly no more service nor parts for the LineStreamer--pity great little product.
Why both slowly failed is still a Mystery--maybe something to do with the Bus USB Power --they need
over 450ma constant from your PC .I use a MacBookPro.
I finished my LP's with the excellent bang for the buck-- Furutech GT40a-it uses a Wall Wart.

I didn't experience any problems with my HRT Linestreamer+ used on a MacBook Pro for ripping my vinyl. I didn't rip that many though, maybe a few dozen albums.Is the Furutech GT40a still available? I had a hard time finding it recently as I browsed online. NAD makes a real inexpensive unit that is readily available but I don't know how good it is.

My TWO(?) LineStreamers just slowly stopped working over a few days-
- bloody strange I do admit. No one had any answers although my 17" MBook is pre 2011.
Agree though fine value for the $$--yes the Furutech-now the "a" improved Version-- completed my
tasks like a dream --they are freely available and highly recommended.
Alternative to go further up the scale to the Ayre Q /Mytek/etc.

Abe, the NAD only does 16/44 or 48. The ADL is still around, I think Audio Advisor and/or Parts Conexxion has them. They are an ADC, a DAC, a phono preamp, and I think a headphone amp. It is a lot for the money, if it sounds good. And I think the newer model now goes up to 24/192, although I think 24/96 is ideal for vinyl.
I recommended it to a friend who was just starting out, but he still hasn't made a move.
I think for someone who is doing vinyl the PS Audio on closeout might be the way to go. Especially if you don't have a decent phono preamp.
I thought about it, but Fremer said it was on the lean side, and I like my Lancelot Pro.
I didn't know about the NAD's 16/44, 48 limitation. I'm with you on 24/96 being the sweet spot and more than sufficient for digitizing vinyl.
I'm a little confused on the ADL. That's the same as Furutech, right? I'm thinking of the GT40a. After searching ADL GT40a, I found it on the Needledoctor website for $579 USD. You're right, it does a lot for the price and according to the specs, it supports up to 24/192.
I've been tempted by the closeout pricing on the PS Audio NuWave Phono Converter but I don't need a phono preamp and I've been happy with the results from my HRT Linestreamer+. If I were to invest a lot more time ripping my entire vinyl collection, I might take the PS Audio unit more seriously.
