Due lack of rack space etc...I put the SimAudio Moon 100D on its side, at least for now...any issues doing that??
Like I said, stupid question :)

A heavy transformer is a primary concern when a component is placed on its side. However, since the Simaudio Moon 100D features an outboard power supply, there shouldn't be an issue in this case, but I suggest the use of audiophile-quality vibration control pads or footers.
In some cases placement on the side may cause a problem.
Some DACS use a form of suspension to isolate the boards from external vibration (e.g. Naim do this). Obviously any such suspension may not function as intended if placed on end.
I have insufficient knowledge of the Moon products to know if this is or isn't the case here but it may be worth checking on.
All the electrons will accumulate at one side of the dac giving an uneven performance

But do they rise or fall? Should the case be flipped periodically?
