Anyone here have any experience with this line of dacs. My Kora Hermes is getting on in years and I'm considering this brand. I know they have the Amber at the low end and I'm considering the dac Lite ($5000) with dsd. Would I be missing something for not going higher in the line. Would be using a mac mini for streaming. Looking for any user feedback in helping this near future purchase, and I'm pretty much stuck on this line just looking for the sweet spot in they're lineup. I have SS Plinus class a amps in my theatre as well as a Dared 845 set driving Verity Leonore in a purist stereo setting.
There's been many system changes in the hometheatre I just haven't posted them and this would go they're.
Any help is greatly appreciated in relating experiences with this line.

I'm a Lampi fan. I started with a Big 7, and I liked it so much that I went to the Golden Gate. I still have both, and have recently re-compared them. The Golden Gate is marvelously realistic in its sound quality, IME. The Big 7 is quite good, enough to motivate me to try more of the Lampi line (and glad that I did). They both offer a very coherent presentation, with well realized timbre, dynamic shading, and timing. They soundstage wonderfully in all dimensions. The GG vs. the Big 7 just does this all "moreso".
I do not have experience with their models further down the line, but I read plenty of reviews and consumer opinions, and they seem to be wholly consistent with the traits I hear. My previous DAC's were the Berkeley DAC 2, and Audio Note Kits 4.1 LE, and an EAR Acute. The Lampi's were compellingly better (of course, they should be for their prices).
I am happy with the GG DAC, and I think I won't be hunting for another DAC (I know, I know....).
I knows... I know...
Believe me I know too‚ all to well ...
Great descriptions in the dacs characteristics , sounds like you're very happy with them. You're Annaliseing the big 7 against the gg is intriguing and what I prefer from real owners of products, professional reviews are great informational guidelines but I count more today on current owners,.
I also put weight in your comments based on the army of dacs you've had, man that's a list, big competition to be beating, I'm seriously considering the best dac they offer pricey as it is. I will also say it will be a final piece, I know... I know...
Nice job jbtw on your stereo system I bet it sounds great! In your profile.
Thanks again for your input as I move towards this landmark purchase.

Dunno anything about those, but the Lampizator "mods" of yesteryear have /were proven as a bad joke, a sure fire way to ruin gear.
Something to be aware of.. is all.
His mods were proven to be bunk, please post a couple of links I'd love to read some more on this, thanks...

It would appear to be a good deal, is it pure dsd only or does it do redbook CD as well. How's the bass response. Does tube regulation provide added warmth, more harmonic richness as well as added dimensionality to the soundstage in your perception.
Did you have any previous dacs to compare the level of sound quality currently against the prior product.
Thank you for your Time/input.

I use HQ Player, and it upsamples any file to DSD 128, which I like a lot.
It has a bigger, warmer sound than my Mytek 192/DSD Dac.
I have to use the Mytek Internal Jumpers and Volume Trim at Max or it is too bright and aggressive.
I also had a Marantz 8005 Streamer/Dac, which I returned.
I wonder how much better the more expensive Lampizator's might be.
Lampi's return policy is only a week, and I had to pay for shipping.
I recently added the IFI Usb 3.0 Power supply, DC Wall Wart, DC Purifier, and Shotgun style Usb Cable which improved everything by a noticeable margin, and a pricey Audioquest USB Cable from the Computer to the IFI.
"I wonder how much better the more expensive lampizators might be...
It's the very nature in this thought process that keeps us in pursuit of the next level of higher sound quality.
So you appreciate this products performance, great!
As to your cabling and power accessories I'm a firm believer in those enhancements, I've noted some products available in they're customization of the unit. Pretty cool to get one tailor made to your liking via they're website, that's high-end done right IMO.
I'd like to thank you again for relaying your experiences with this fine equipment, and hope you continue to enjoy your dac as well.
I did email lampizator USA and they seem to feel there's more apparent increase in sound quality going from a level 7 to the Golden Gate, the gate being supreme than going from a lite to a big 7.
On a final note most of my listening is digital, and I've been considering this product for some time, make no mistake it is pricey, yet I feel it's worthy. The only caveat I have is the seven day return policy, some products are still burning in at this point! Sooooo... Better be sure....
Choices... It's going to come down to one of these three and l will post my observations in the near future. Have a great day oldmkvi!
