Quantum dots, Quantum Corp Electraclear, WA Quantum Chips, quantum tunneling, quantum teleportation, quantum superposition. Quantum Temple Bell. These products strike fear and loathing deep, deep into the hearts of audiophiles everywhere! Don't they?
;-)

Some are for real: Double slit experiment, Quantum entanglement

Quantum CD transport is real as well.
Thank you very much for your feedback, Anthony !

I don't doubt that it's an excellent CD Player but why the word Quantum? Is there some significance? Do you have a double slit inside the player? Perhaps you just like the word. I am the inventor of the Super Intelligent Chip (quantum), the Ultra Clever Clock (quantum) and the Quantum Temple Bell (Quantum), not to mention the Teleportation Tweak (yup, Quantum. Those are real quantum.
I'm an optoelectronic engineer who developed a strong passion for astrophysics and quantum mechanics. I know, each of these is on the other side of the physics, but are in very strong relation.
Few years back we started to develop a range of amplifiers:
quasar, pulsar and supernova. Each name represent a characteristic of the amplifier. I'll not boring you with the details.
On the digital side we had quark and now we work on gluon. Gluon is a dht dsd/pcm dac in three "colours" (versions), that will make the link between quantum and amplifiers.
Well this is a short and rough explanation for Quantum name.
On other side, in every transistor, diode, tube or passive electronic component lies a lot of quantum physics. Entire electronic is driven by quantum mechanics world. So, why not Quantum ?
Why are you interested in a name instead of what make Quantum different from other CD transports ?

Tibi
The cd laser is quantum mechanical too. I'm just messing with you. Good luck with your endeavor.
Yes, lasers are most used in quantum mechanics because of the photon duality, wave/particle.
Thank you !

Tibi
CD lasers are quantum wells: Quantum confinement in Two dimensions. My Super Intelligent chips use quantum dots which are examples of quantum confinement in three dimensions.
