I got a BNC male to RCA female adaptor for this connection, pic attached is says SPDIF.
I assume I know what I think I am doing, I need to connect this CD player output to my DAC which has RCA type SPDIF connections.
I hope I didn't waste $3 on the part (linked below)

just like the one on my ARC DAC7.
I purchased a cable with BNC at one end and RCA at the other.
Not a good thing for what's supposed to be a 75-ohm coaxial line.....
A 75-ohm BNC jack looks like this...... Note the absence of dielectric around the female pin.
As are most of them it seems.
I "recovered" most of my 75-ohm ones from ex-military gear, silver plated jacks, with some nice silver-wire 75-ohm (Belden) mini-coax (internal side) still connected to them. Good score for the DIY cheapskate!
.
Thanks a lot. I read about it being 75ohm, I figured I guessed right.
Just wanted to make sure, thanks a lot to you both.
Cheers
