Intriguing exercise.
I must admit I expected the Hires catalog to be much larger.

I think everyone appreciates the fact that the music industry has a huge challenge before them - falling revenue and market share in the entertainment arena during a massive generational change. My opinion is they are simply milking what's left out of what used to drive their market - Baby Boomers like me buying CDs (or a few SACDs they similarly failed to embrace in a big way) while the physical media ship is sinking ~ 9% every year.
It is the Millennials and the iGen that follow who will determine the future music market. My 21 year old nephew couldn't care less about "everything from Love to Paul Butterfield to Richard Thompson, to Steppenwolf, to freaking Cream" (Actually, neither do I). And he has NO interest in physical media. It's all on his computer or phone.Hopefully, the quality of new music will not be lost forever when CDs are finally phased out for current releases.
edit: left out "few" :)

... when digital and/or computer technology was NOT marketed before it was virtually perfect (or even ready)?
