In Reply to: RE: Streaming from a MacBookPro to Oppo BDP-105, anyone doing it? posted by bgunn on January 25, 2016 at 16:57:44
I have a DBP-105D, but I copy my music onto 256-MB USB Flash drives and plug them into the BDP-105D directly. Why worry about streaming from a computer, although it can be done. I have done it with my Toshiba notebook computer but it seems much more convenient to me to plug my storage drives into the BDP-105D directly and eliminate the computer altogether.
Best regards,
John Elison

I rip/download/store my digital library on the office server and content is immediately available to all systems (5), including the Oppo player.
It also facilitates maintaining updated backups. You necessarily need to connect the (slow) flash drives to a computer to edit/add content or copy it elsewhere. I maintain five USB hard drive based copies for redundancy.

I was thinking of streaming non-local radio (www.KFJC.org at my place in the mountains) or archive.org live shows.
