"The new Sony PS-HX500 USB Turntable ($599), a bunch of words I'm sure I never saw coming as a group, can send your LPs to your PC via USB in 24/192 format."
Nothing about DSD until the last paragraph:
"Also on display was the new CAS-1 High-Resolution Audio system ($999) that includes a 24/192 and DSD128 capable USB DAC/Amp/Headphone amp and a pair of 2 way bass reflex speakers each housing a 14 mm soft dome tweeter and 62 mm woofer. Look for availability in the 2nd Q of 2016."
Follow Ups:
If you look at the Sony product page, you'll see that the player definitely does both 2.8 and 5.6MHz DSD. After all, they along with Phillips are co-owners of the DSD trademark.
The player uses a Burr Brown PCM 4202 ADC; the same as in the Tascam DA-3000.
No mention of what cartridge is used, or what tonearm parameters are adjustable. Looks like tracking force and anti-skate, plus the slotted headshell. At this price point, a 5VDC wall wart power supply is used. The included software is also probably a price-point weak link.
It should be possible to upgrade the performance a few clicks by changing the power supply, cartridge, and cables departments.
Based my comments on the linked article in the original post.
