Hate to rain on the parade, but I wouldn't spend more that $1500 on a DAC today, and that may be pushing it. Today's $6K DAC will be on A'gon at under $2K in 2 years. Listening to my Grace M920 as I type.

I don't think there's a better DAC/Pre/Headphone amp on the market for less than $5000, at least that I have heard.
That's including Schiit's best stack (Yggdrasil/Ragnarok) which I was fortunate to have had the chance to audition at length at CanJam/RMAF this last month. Listened with both the HE-1000 they had at the booth and my own HD-600 with balanced cable.
Please do so and report back if you find one that sold for 6K new a couple years ago that I can now pick up for 2K.
Oh, there's a Grace M902 on Audio Asylum Trader for $545.

Also look at prices
I bought a level two assembled for $2200

that cost $6000 new will not be easy to find for that price.
ANK now uses many parts not sourced or used with 'real' Audio Note gear. Does it really matter? Who knows?
I do know that the Audio Note room at just about every audio show I ever attended, and that's been a least a couple a year for the last two decades, sounds good whether playing vinyl or CDs.
