That is definitely an MSB LinkDAC III with the analog stage bypassed. Melos even put the factory Link power supply inside the DAC chassis. Box 1 is the DAC, box two is the analog stage.

So is this thing using Sigma/delta converters then? I can't easily find what kind of DA converters it uses other than "Burr Brown".
I saw that p.s. in there and the empty 8 pin DIP's too. I understand using what they consider a proven product but I don't understand not upgrading the PS and if they are gonna use it they should have bypassed the male/female PS out connectors and soldered the PS output wires direct to the board.
They went to the trouble of pulling the RCA jacks, why not the power supply connector. I guess ease of servicing should the thing blow up.
What's funnier is they used the LED board too (the long thin board to the front). The unit won't work without the LED board, but there are ways of bypassing it.
FYI - I was mistaken. This is a Link II board not a III. So it's pretty old.
