Having been in the business for a long time, I have removed and installed many covers. Some still give me a lot of problems, but there is always some trick to it, and I always get it in the end. If you are not good a t three-dimensional puzzles, maybe you can consult someone who is. You son, perhaps?

He came yesterday but still could not install the cover. He suspects that extra layer of new paint just does not let the cover go into the slots. I have to bring it to a nechanics shop, if I have time...
Yes, he did it. The cover had to be expanded on both sides. I already brought it to the powder paiting shop and received it back.
It was a perfect job - no scratches, and coating is even more smooth than it was for the first time.
Will wait for my son to come again to mount it.
