The only tangible proof that matters are listening perceptions. Unless someone can hear with their eyes via reading test measurements...I've never learned to do that...
Granted my dual Sabre dac has twice the RFI of the single Sabre Dacs I've owned, however, the only thing that makes it to my ears is a greater sense of separation.
I don't have golden ears so most test measurement stats are beyond my threshold of hearing.

You have to keep in mind that Todd is the king of RFI effects going back as far as I can remember. I don't mean that in a bad way but it just seems that he is very sensitive to RFI or equates everything 'bad' about digital to RFI. ;-)
Abe is correct.... I've been complaining about RFI in active digital audio playback for roughly 20 years.......
My infamous post when I was a relative newbie here.... 14 years ago (link)..... I really, really believe that the RFI from digital audio products has by and large whacked how the we all enjoy music..... I think it is largely responsible in the loss of interest in both "timeless" music (everything is now "disposable") and in high-fidelity sound reproduction.
Which in turn has introduced "gimmicks" into performance that initially impresses unsuspecting listeners, but over time leaves just about everybody cold.
The only saving grace is that vinyl has survived.
I will be investing in a Tascam 122 MkII cassette deck. (The Nakamichi decks I've had over the years just aren't reliable.) I want to record a few CDs to metal tape, and listen to the music without any active digital processing going on..... Of course, there will be degradation in the tape recording/playback (cassette is in itself a compromise), but I want to find out if taking RFI out of the equation really impacts how I perceive music that I've only known in its digitized state.
I don't know the specifics, but my ears tell me there is good reason to turn my CD player off when I listen to records.

I remember a test run at the now-defunct Audio Nut store in AZ.... A bunch of people listened to a vinyl track. Norah Jones- "Come Away With Me", on a Rega 3 turntable. We listened to it with an active CD player connected to the system, and later with it powered down and removed from the system. Everybody present in the store (about 5 to 7 people) preferred how it sounded with the CD player powered down and removed from the system.
The difference is not subtle.

I can understand that...getting old is a b!tch. It makes you more sensitive to a lot of things in adverse ways. Probably a touch of tinnitus.
RFI is definitely real and can become audible.
