String quartets, acoustic jazz trios, acoustic ballads, etc. ....
For complex music, non-oversampling just loses cues buried in the complexity.....
No DAC sounds best with everything.... Just a cold reality.

I tend to agree, except that the complexity you and I like might not be on the original disk, but a byproduct of over-sampling. Is that possible?

I sense no downside to playing heavily orchestrated symphonic music with my Audio Note NOS dac in the least. Quite the contrary.
AN DACs will play anything just fine but they tend to have real power supplies and outputs. The higher the level the better they are at handling density or anything else. Really looking forward to the new DACs which can be retrofitted to the old and current machines apparently. So keep an eye out.
