Has anyone heard this player and if so what is your opinion? I am mainly interested in the CD playback. Thanks.

Another consideration that has in-house repair capabilities;
Audio Advice in Raleigh NC.
Yes, Sam -I have heard this player in a Classe' + B&W + Transparent system. It does not disappoint. These (3) companies are sonic matches for one another.
Good to know. Thank you very much. My only concern with it is if the laser failed. How hard would it be to get replacement parts?
I would contact Classe' and ask them if they stock replacement parts for their spinners or farm it out to an authorized repair partner.
Also, I have often wondered if the same transport & laser assembly is used in all of their spinners ?
I will call Classe today. I would think the player would be built to last especially at its price point but never hurts to inquire. Thanks Fantja.
My pleasure- Sam.
another well-regarded source is a place called;
Pyramid Audio in Austin TX.
I called Classe and left two messages to two different departments. No response yet. Patience I know lol.
Much Thanks! Sam-
while you are awaiting for a callback via Classe' , reach out and touch Pyramid Audio for a comparison. These guys repair a plethora of different gear.
OK, again thank you very much. You seem to have a plethora of audio knowledge lol.
Well, I have been a subscriber to both TAS & Stereophile since 1993 (and counting). I aslo subscribe to HiFi+ & HiFi News & Record Review since 2011.
Finally, I have been active in these forums since early 2000's.
I take every opportunity to learn!
You should be well versed in audio then right lol? I've been on and off here since about the same time you have I think but not near as active as you. I quit taking subsriptions to mags quite some time ago because I hardly read the darn things.
By the way I decided to get a Marantz SA11-S2 to replace my SA11-S1. I was really leaning to the Classe but after thinking about it I would rather have a player capable of playing SACD instead of DVD-A. Yes I know there isn't much SACD out there lol.
Marantz is a nice machine, there are many models to choose based upon one's budget. I always found it odd that Classe' never built a spinner to accommodate SACD?
Yet, at least 2 of there spinners had DVD-Audio capabilities.
It will be easy to catch up Sam. Check out thedailyaudiophile. com
I will always keep me subscriptions, as still enjoy print publications.
Reading is only 50% at best. One has to get out to the dealers/retailers, this is the other 50% easily. Even if you must drive to the next city/state, this must be accomplished. Trust your ears!
Guess I better start reading the thedailyaudiophile :)
Thankfully I have a couple of local buddies who are into 2 channel. Every once in awhile we exchange equipment which is fun or go to each others houses and listen to each others systems or listen when they get a new toy. Speaking of toys my Marantz SA11-S2 will be ready for pick-up today :)
keep me posted- have you decided against the repair of your Classe' ?
Fantja I was inquiring about the Classe to buy. My Marantz SA11-S1 needs minor repair as the drawer won't open. I think its a simple fix.
I see. Classe' made many spinners over the years;
102
202
300
502
I still have a few feelers out there in forum land, trying to answer your original query. I will keep you posted.
Keen to find out. My player is having the "Please Insert Disc" issue with some discs. Called Classe about repair and they think its laser mechanism needs replacing but they want £400 to replace it (£220 shipping/labour and another £160 for the part).
I've heard it's self-swappable if you have the right part. Would be keen to find out what part I need to swap mine out.
Welcome!
Keep us posted- mdeacon.
Thank you sir.
which player did you purchase?
