Quite original the use of ethernet connection between transport and dac
I read great things about the quality of this standard, much superior to both usb and hdmi for instance.

Follow Ups:
I think, done right, most connections can achieve good fidelity. However, by its nature, the I2S connection, optimally implemented, would appear to offer distinct advantages over other types (separate timing information, talks directly to the DAC without transcoding). Certainly sounds attractive in this system, hence the desire to try the Vodka.
Now listening to Mahler's 5th (Barshai, Junge Deutsche Philharmonie). Rousing stuff.

Very interesting. problem is that when one standard become widely used imposes itself even if there are better but less popular options, like the victory of rca on bnc for digital out, a very silly case.
Impossible to explain on a technical basis, only commercial.
