Can't the Coax S/PDIF go directly to the input S/PDIF input on the Micro-iDSD? I need the RCA outputs on the iFi to go to a preamp.
Observe, before you think. Think before you open your yap. Act on the basis of experience.
Follow Ups:
The SPDIF digital input/output is a RCA jack. Located right next to the Left and right audio analog outputs.
If your AN Transport has a RCA jack SPDIF digital output, use a RCA to RCA coax digital cable to directly connect.
If you AN transport has a BNC jack Coax SPDIF digital output, use a BNC to RCA coax digital cable to directly connect.
I thought this is what I said/sating in my post, but maybe it was not clear. Apologies for any semantic confusion! :-)
See link for a good description.

Since the Micro iDSD is battery powered and needs to be charged via USB...I don't how see how it is a good choice for a transport.
