I have a naim 5i-2 intergrated.. A lot of post say I should use the naim CD player with it to get the best sound? I have it paired with a jaton operetta CD player ($3000) via rca jacks. The sound is simply increadable. I used to have a primaluna p2 which was nice but this just sounds so much more "real" with the naim. My question is their other folks out there using this amp with a different CD player with great results. I know my CD player is not really known I came across it only because my friend writes for a online stereo review, and he reviewed it and it is just simply amazing how good this player is. His review never made it to print don't know why (he doesn't know either). Lol. Oh well. My cabling is tellurium q black. I also posted this in the amp section. Thanks for your time

Ask Naim for a demo on the new cable coming out next month.
that if your present set up pleases you as much as you say, that adding something different would, at best, be equal and very likely not as good.If you decide to change it would fall into the category of change for changes sake and the sheer fun of experimenting. OK by me if money is no object.

If you are curious about a Naim CD player, contact a dealer and ask for a demo.If you like your current CD player, getting a Naim signal lead might be another alternative.
DIN termination is generally recommended but you can can get a standard gray interconnect cable terminated with RCA for a non Naim player. Also Naim HiLine in DIN/RCA or newly released Naim Lumina IC could be a possibility if you can demo them.

I am excited to see/hear this new cable from Naim.
I will second, use the DIN connector.
5i is a very basic amp . Don't agonize over CD player choice. If you're happy with what you have now keep it. British manufacturers and especially Naim are cynical bastards and you'd probably have to spend 3x the money to get better sound. Unfortunately, they are capable and sometimes it's worth to pay the difference but not at 5i entry level. My 0.02 cents.
