Anyone have a chance to compare the new kings of lossless streaming, Deezer Elite and Tidal? I'm running Deezer Elite right now and would like to know whether to try Tidal on a trial basis (I have a SONOS Connect). I'll probably try Tidal in the next few months anyway, but was just a bit curious as to what others thought.

Naxos has started up a streaming service for mainly classical music. They have it set up for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android. The minimum bit rate is lossless 16/44.1, and they have 24/44.1, 24/48, 24/96 and 24/192 (I have not seen 24/88 or 24/176 but they might have them, too).
The streaming service is $14.99/month with a two-week free trial. They use PayPal.
Of course, they have Naxos, but also many of the labels they distribute. I have found Pentatone (mostly only lossless), and I have found at least the following labels with HD streaming: Coro, CPO, Dacapo, Genuin, Reference Recordings, Sono Luminus, Atma, Arcana, NMC, Zig-zag, and many more.
I have used mainly the iPod (iOS) app. It is a little buggy, but mainly when using the AirPlay interface. This is the way I get the music to my main system. The sound through headphones via my iPod Touch 5 is very good, and it definitely sounds better than Spotify. The search function is not great, but a lot of that may be my ignorance. The iOS app does not take advantage of version 7, but that will probably come eventually. My biggest complaint so far is that you cannot get back to the page that is playing if you wander around the app while music is playing (unlike Spotify or iPeng for the Squeezebox), but I hope they will work on upgrading the app.
I only have a 10M connection, but I have had no problem streaming 24/96 or 24/192.
I am surprised nothing has been said about this service at AA (unless I missed it, but I do lurk here almost every day). I found out via a thread at sa-cd.net.
Thanks for the tip. As one who can't get his head around the idea of ditching CD for the hassle of another form of storage, this is great news. High resolution streaming is the future.
That being said, you are right about the search engine though, it's awful, and the interface is very clunky. They're not where I would be ready to pay $15 a month yet.

on the Sonos. I fall back to google unlimited if something is not available. Been very happy with Deezer elite.
Great sound, not really in the US yet but there are work-arounds to get it here. Doesn't work with SONOS yet, at least in the US BUT GREAT classical catalog and GREAT search features, even allowing search by record label.
I also subscribe to TIDAL, again great sound but LOUSY search function with only a small handful of albums returned on each search even when the albums are available in the catalog. It is possible that the search function is so weak that albums are in the catalog can't be retrieved because so few appear on a given search (30 or so is all).
Plus side is that TIDAL is now available of SONOS as a Beta test.
Both must be run as downloaded apps for Lossless FLAC, only MP-3 on the browser but both have Apple AirPlay capabilities built into their apps.
Hoping TIDAL gets their search act together soon.
TIDAL content is lacking compared to Spotify. Deezer seems at first glance to have good content.
I can't use Deezer Elite because they only support it through SONOS.
Cut-Throat
There was a thread on this over on PC audio last month - at least as far as Tidal is concerned.
