Does anyone know where parts can be obtained?
I had sent it for repair when Raysonic was shutting down.
Never got the parts to repair
Laser needs alignment and centering disc that surrounds the spindle (see picture), and supposedly mother board
Follow Ups:
USA Tube Audio fixed a Raysonic 168 I had, a few years back. They were the US distributor for Raysonic, after Quest4Sound and Raysonic had a falling out. Of course Raysonic is now out of business, so don't know if USA Tube Audio is still doing repairs, but it's worth making a call.

I was unable to get a straight answer regarding parts availability
They also were US Dist for a short time
looks like a generic Philips transport. VAM series which should have an ID label on the back of the assembly. replacement transport is factory aligned.
I presumed it is a 'generic' transport.
Alas, that's not the only issue
if you don't spell out the issues.
99% of what you mention in the original post would be cured by transport replacement
Supposedly, Quest4Sound was provided with a new transport but problem persisted
Apparently Raysonic said problem was mother board, and screwed Q4S out of money they paid for it, but did not receive
I think Q4S tossed in a crap transport and didn't bother to align it properly, and did not notice it was missing the centering disc that fits over the spindle
I had lawyer send a letter, but Q4S denied any wrong doing or responsibility
Buyer beware
Still a good tech could buy this and make it right. Ad in AA Classifieds
When did Raysonic close shop?
Several years ago, possibly 3+ now
Thanks! for sharing.
Perhaps, someone picked up their repair capabilities?
Nope. If you own a Raysonic product, and something other than an off the shelf part fails you are out of luck.
In the case of the OP, he mentions the motherboard. If that really has failed, it's a boat anchor.
However I'd get a second opinion on that.
