Hi,
I am looking for a repair shop to repair my Shangling CDP. The problem with the unit is after a few minutes playing it starts to get quieter and then goes silent. All in about 1 minute. The rest of the unit seems to be working fine. I can hear the disc spin and hear the laser unit move. But no sound.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Randy

I wanted to thank everybody who recommended Blackdog- Dan Santoni. He found multiple problems and repaired the unit for a very reasonable price. Repair time was also very quick.

I wanted to provide a little more info on this situation. I purchased this unit in December 2013. It was used, I think approx. a year and a half old. It worked perfectly for the first 3 months. Then one day I put a disc in and with in a few minutes the music started to fade away to silence. At first I could turn it off, let it sit and turn it back on and it would work again. But as the days went by it got to the point this no longer worked. In powering it up everything sounds like it is working. Just no sound. I contacted the vendor. He reaffirmed his 1 year warrenty. So I sent it back to him. He worked on it for 2 weeks and found a solder near the fuse connection that was faulty. He fixed it and sent it back. The CDP worked for about 10 days and the problem reappeared. I contacted this well known vendor about the problem. In 3 weeks I have not received any response. I guess I really don't have a warrenty.
Thanks

Bummer. Based on what you said and looking at that photo I'd guess a problem with the analog power supply. It has one for dig and one for analog.

I suggest that you remove the board and inspect every solder joint. I helps to get someone familiar with soldering and with a good eye. I had a tube amp that gave me so much grieve until I discovered the bad solder joint. Any tech should be able to do it in 30 minutes. A check of the voltages and resistor values on the tube(s) would be the next step for a tech familiar with tube circuits.
Thanks for your ideas. Does anybody have any experience with either Music Technology recommended by Bill Thallman or Blackdog HIFI recommended by Dan Santoni?
Thanks again

simply the internet handle of Dan Santori. He runs a highly respected repair/upgrade/warranty service in Canada. I've never had anything done by him but numerous references have been made to his excellent work on the Canuck Audio Mart over a number of years. I've never heard anything negative.
I would use his service without hesitation if I needed to. I have absolutely no affiliation with him just recounting what I've read and heard.
If you want to ship it, I can fix it.

A guy brought him a radio, about 1940-1950 and when he turned on the radio IT when crazy oscillating, but after a minute it calmed down and let the radio station come through. Dr. Feymann (only twelve years old or so at the time) paced up and down the floor and then realized he just needed to change the order of the vacuum tubes in the radio as some were warming up faster than others.
He was thereafter known as the kid who could fix things just by thinking.
It must be a capacitor charging, but the resistor is not charging it correctly. I suggest you check resistor values around the tubes and check solder connections to be well formed. (Let me know if my guessing comes anywheres close to thinking).
And its both channels then? That would very likely rule out the 6922 tubes (one per channel) Here is an inside view. I'd at least open it and jiggle connectors etc when it goes quiet.
