You used a variety of electrolytic types. Did you use any particular method (i.e. ESR, ripple ratings, reports of subjective sound characteristics, etc.?) to place certain caps at strategic locations in your CD player?
I'm curious, because one of the million projects I have in my queue is to try re-capping my CD player. I've used Panasonic FM and FC before (in tuners and amps) and have Silmics here ready to into a phono stage and line stage.
Congratulations on getting the player re-capped, and I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Hi
If you haven't already done so, see if you can track down a copy of the schematic. Once you see the actual schematic, you can make a proper judgement call on the appropriate substitute when see what possible compromise the designer has made.

I wanted to use Panasonic FM though out but value/voltages were limited. so where I couldn't use the Panasonic FM I used FC's and then used the Silmic II and then Nichicon FA.
As of today the Ugly part is over and now the bass is coming in nicely. The soundstage is wider and deeper than before. I will it go another 48 hours. I will post back with the results.
the background is really quiet. so that's what I really like about this plus the instruments/vocals sound more real now.
