I've posted a Squeezebox + DAC question on the Computer Audio Asylum.
You appear to be an experienced squeeze box user. Your comments, if any, would be welcome in regards to my question on Computer Audio Asylum.
Thanks

Get a Squeezebox Touch and an inexpensive DAC like a Grant Fidelity one and you will be plenty satisfied.

though I might suggest two things:
1. listen to the touch without a outboard DAC before investing in one
2. if you do invest in a DAC make sure it is better than the one inside the SBT, I think you need to think at least $400-600 in DACs to really get better chips, etc. think Peachtree DACit, Cambridge DACmagic, etc.

The Grant Fidelity Tube DAC will blow away the internal DAC of the SBT for around $350.

How about the Maverick D2 DAC?
The D1 was sounded good, the D2 has some marked improvements in parts. I suspect it should be a high value great sounding Dac as a stock unit.

But, if you google this with the Grant Fidelity one, you will find some reviews of people that have compared the two.
