the selections are of different genres than I listen to.
Suggest Frederick Fennell's recordings with the Eastman Wind Ensemble from Mercury hybrid SACD or just the RBCD, or Cleveland (Orchestra) Winds in the classic series digitally recorded to SACD hybrid or just plain RBCD of same. Also, try any early Telarc digital recordings of the Cleveland Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, St Louis Symphony. Their method of recording bass drum thwacks was infamous.
