I don't recall "counting", but I do recall indication (flashing LED) on some DACs from the 1990s. I think the Encore DAC had one, as did the original Audio Synthesis DAX.

The dbx DX5 (ca 1986) also had a flashing LED error indicator.

I don't recall any with error counts.
