If you wait to renew after you receive the last issue, by the time the subscription renewal is taken care of you would have missed at least two issues. I like the early warning system of the magazines.
A renewal has always been more than a new subscription. The low rates for new is an incentive to catch more subscribers.
International guys do pay a lot more.
I do not find anything unethical in early warning.
Cheers

It's semantics not ethics.
And for nearly every magazine I subscribe to, I can find cheaper rates on the internet than their renewal rate.

" ...It's semantics not ethics."Are you serious?
I was told that my subscription HAD EXPIRED when it has not. It simply is a lie. Maybe your perception of semantics includes lies. If that's the kind of life you told me to get, no thanks. Enjoy yours. My life includes reading carefully and comprehensively what others say and think carefully before I respond precisely.
