Enjoyed the review of the Elac Debut speakers. Herb did a fine job documenting their sound and John did his usual great job with measurements.
I have seen numerous reviews of the Debut and they have all been positive. My request is for Herb to do a follow up by adding one of the matching Elac subwoofers. Can't find a single review of the sub/sat combo. Would love to see John measure it and investigate how well the room eq adaption works.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
Follow Ups:
I saw on Youtube that AJ has designed a three way upgrade of B5 to be known as UB5 which will cost $500. Perhaps wont need the subwoofer.
I am yet to read the Sterophile reviews of Debut. What did JA think of them?
Cheers
Bill
I've never heard a $1K speaker that wouldn't benefit from a sub much less a $500 one. Still they are a great value.
ET
Yeah, the UB5 will need a Sub.
Cheers
Bill
I believe I saw an ad on Audiogon or Audiomart for a both for sale, perhaps he can shed some light on the combo.

follow-up of the Elac B6 (sans subwoofer) scheduled for the June issue of
Stereophile.

Interested in the June follow up. Thanks for taking the time to answer Mr. Atkinson. You do a great job.
Elac just brought out a step up model range with coincident mid and tweeter drivers. Perhaps an inexpensive TAD system? Could see buying this. Would love a test of these with the subwoofer. Christmas issue would be about right.
Keep up the good work and everyone play some music.
The new models with the coincident drivers seem very appealing (I've heard the TAD Ref One and it is easily in the top 3-4 speakers I've ever heard). I wish they would build those in the US ("Elac USA"???). I'd be willing to pay more for such a product.
